Having created valuable musical creations to the nation, forwarding a vast number of pupils to the classical music field, the service rendered by the late veteran musician Vadya Visharad, Kala Bhushana, Maestro D.R.Peiris towards the Sri Lankan musical arena is highly appreciated. He was a musician who rendered a yeoman service to the musical arena with no self-expectation The D.R.Peiris Foundation was formed on 20th October 2001 by a cluster of his students with the idea of expanding services done by Late Maestro D.R.Peiris.
